The NCAA season is winding down for many college teams and the Ivy League title was still up in the air when the sun rose on Saturday morning with a chill in the air. It’s Harvard vs. Yale and the 2008 version of the long standing rivalry had nearly 32,000 fans in the seats.
The game was a defensive struggle and Harvard grabbed an early lead with a Gino Gordon four-yard touchdown run and thgat is all the points they would need. Yale struggled all day, managing on 54 yards rushing and only 36 yards through the air.
Yale also turned the ball over three times losing all three of their fumbles. Harvard was dominant on the ground rushing for 261 yards. Leading the way was Gino Gordon who was a work horse, toting the rock 39 times for 168 yards. Chris Pizzotti chipped in as well with 16 carried for 74 yards.
Harvard kicked a late field goal to end the scoring. The Harvard Crimson finishes the season 9-1 (6-1 in the Ivy League). The Yale Bulldogs finish the season 6-4 with a 4-3 record in the Ivy.
